Analyst Scrutinizes Bianca Belair’s Scheduling Prior to WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

Published

on

Bianca Belair was the number one draft pick earlier this year and has since been consistently working in the women’s tag team division. Despite her star power, Belair’s bookings appear to have been compromised recently, felt a wrestling analyst.

The Women’s Tag Team Champions (Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill) have teased a program with Liv Morgan on WWE RAW. Furthermore, they are now seemingly set to work with IYO SKY of Damage CTRL at Survivor Series: WarGames. The faction was after the Women’s Tag Team Championship not long ago, so their union came out of left field. They were seen together alongside babyface Naomi on the red brand last week, standing tall over the heels – Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez. Former WWE analyst Matt Camp blasted the company’s booking.

He pointed to The EST, who especially has always been seen as someone who doesn’t trust Damage CTRL’s former leader Bayley, despite the latter’s babyface turn earlier this year. But it seems Belair has no problems with SKY, who, ironically, was the one who turned on The Role Model. Furthermore, Belair herself has faced The Genius of the Sky many times for the Women’s Title in the last two years.

Speaking on his YouTube channel The Wrestling Matt, Camp questioned why Bianca Belair and IYO SKY have decided to work together without any “trepidation.”

“When Bayley turned babyface, any interaction her and Bianca had, Bianca was like, ‘Nope,’ and Bayley would try and make good. She knows the error of her ways. I know Damage CTRL has turned babyface now. But Bayley was babyface. [Bianca Belair] is cool just standing next to IYO?” [From 7:14 onwards]

The analyst further noted that at the very least WWE should add some stakes to the upcoming WarGames match because of how everything had just been thrown together. It bears watching if any explanation will be forthcoming on the road to Survivor Series.

Matt Camp blasts WWE for Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill and IYO SKY’s booking

Matt Camp feels WWE does not have a solid story with the women, so they simply “slapped together” a WarGames match with no stakes.

He brought up Damage CTRL’s pursuit of the Women’s Tag Team Championship recently and felt Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and IYO SKY’s characters had been compromised with this decision. He then pointed to Nia Jax and Liv Morgan, who just had a high-profile match at Crown Jewel for the titular belt. Camp also added that Jax’s issues with Tiffany Stratton had not been resolved either.

“If you’re going to tell me that IYO, Bianca, Jade and Naomi are going to find common ground by Survivor Series, all right, fine. I can live with that. But how come Sami, Jey, Roman, Jimmy and Seth had trepidation? Yet, Jade and Bianca are like, ‘Cool. Damage CTRL. IYO SKY. No problem.’ Not a hint of animosity or tension. Just, you’re all women babyfaces. Dance and be happy. Stand tall to end the show. I don’t care about that match,” he said. [From 3:48 onwards]

WWE is yet to make the match official for Survivor Series: WarGames, but the formation looks pretty clear as of this writing. It remains to be seen whether something will be at stake at the Thanksgiving event.

Major WWE Star Announces Hiatus After SmackDown

Following the March 14 edition of SmackDown in Barcelona, Lilian Garcia announced her departure as full-time announcer while transitioning to Saturday Night’s Main Event specials and other WWE projects.

on

Lilian Garcia announced she will no longer serve as the ring announcer for Friday Night SmackDown. She shared the news through her Instagram following the conclusion of the March 14 broadcast from Barcelona, Spain.

Garcia revealed that while stepping away from weekly SmackDown duties, she will remain with WWE in multiple capacities. Her new role includes handling ring announcing for all Saturday Night’s Main Event specials, which occur quarterly on NBC and Peacock.

The veteran announcer shared details about her transition in an Instagram post after her final SmackDown appearance.

Just finished announcing SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain and it was absolutely incredible!! Gracias por todo el amor España! ❤️ But now I have some news that this was my last show as the full-time SmackDown announcer. A new era is upon us BUT I will still be with the company as I will be announcing for all @wwe Saturday Night’s Main Event shows on @nbc & @peacock , singing at certain special events, AND currently working on other show ideas with WWE! 😉 WWE is my home so stay tuned as a new chapter begins… I invite all of you to continue this journey with me as we share it together!! 📖🤸🏼‍♀️ Bottom line, thank you and I love you dearly!!!! 💙🥰

Garcia originally returned to WWE on the October 21 episode of Raw, resuming her role as a ring announcer. She subsequently moved to the SmackDown brand earlier this year before this recent change in responsibilities.

WWE has yet to announce who will replace Garcia on the Friday night program. Alicia Taylor currently serves as Raw’s ring announcer, while Mike Rome handles announcing duties for NXT.

The announcing roles have been fluid recently, with Garcia filling in for Rome on NXT and Rome appearing on Raw before returning to NXT the following night.
