Andrade Avoided WWE Contact For 3 Weeks Before Exit

A new report indicates that former United States Champion Andrade has departed WWE after the company was reportedly unable to contact him for weeks.

Andrade Avoided WWE Contact For 3 Weeks Before Exit

Andrade’s second run with WWE appears to have come to an abrupt and perplexing end. The former NXT Champion is once again out of the Stamford-based promotion.

A new report from Cory Hays of BodySlam states that Andrade is no longer with the company, revealing the strange circumstances surrounding his exit. According to the report, WWE had been attempting to get in touch with the 35-year-old star for an extended period. “In regards to Andrade, sources indicate to Bodyslam that WWE had tried to get in touch with him for several weeks but he was unreachable.”

The news provides context for his recent absence from programming. Fans noted earlier that Andrade’s profile had been moved from the active SmackDown roster to the Alumni section on WWE’s official website. This followed his conspicuous non-appearance during last night’s episode of SmackDown, where his recent tag team partner, Rey Fenix, challenged for the United States Championship without him.

His last televised match was in the six-way Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the WWE Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam.

This departure marks the second time Andrade has left the company, having previously requested his release in 2021. That exit led to a stint in AEW that lasted until the end of 2023, before his return as a surprise entrant in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble. Unlike his first run, which saw him capture both the NXT and United States Championships, his second tenure failed to lead to a significant singles program.
