Another member of The Bloodline has indicated plans for a relatively near-term departure from in-ring competition in WWE.
Jey Uso recently disclosed his career timeline during an interview on The Ringer Wrestling Show while preparing for his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against Gunther at WrestleMania 41. Similar to Roman Reigns, Jey acknowledged that his active wrestling days are numbered.
I’m on the end of my career. I feel like I still have a couple years left. I still feel strong, but this is the first time I kind of felt the years are catching up on me. I think I’m getting older. I’ll be 40 in August. I love wrestling. Wrestling is everything. I’m just getting to the point where I want to venture out a little bit more.
The RAW superstar faces perhaps his most significant singles challenge this Saturday at WrestleMania 41 when he squares off against Gunther on Night One of the Premium Live Event. This title opportunity comes during what Jey describes as the final phase of his in-ring career.
His comments echo similar sentiments expressed by Roman Reigns regarding career longevity, suggesting a generational shift may be approaching for the prominent wrestling family. Despite acknowledging physical limitations beginning to surface, Jey expressed that he still feels strong while recognizing his desire to explore opportunities beyond wrestling as he approaches his milestone birthday later this year.
