Grayson Waller expressed interest in joining forces with John Cena and The Rock during the March 3 episode of Raw on Netflix. The SmackDown Superstar made his intentions clear following Cena’s shocking alliance with The Rock at Elimination Chamber.
John Cena aligned himself with The Rock during the March 1 Elimination Chamber premium live event, attacking Cody Rhodes alongside Rock and Travis Scott to conclude the show. This unexpected partnership created immediate waves throughout WWE.
CM Punk addressed the situation earlier in the Raw broadcast, but Waller took a completely different approach to the new alliance. Unlike Punk’s critical stance, Waller enthusiastically supported the Cena-Rock connection.
During a backstage segment, Waller directly addressed The Rock with his proposition. “If you need another soul, I am A-Town Down,” Waller stated, borrowing his tag team partner Austin Theory’s catchphrase in the process.
Theory appeared visibly displeased with Waller’s appropriation of his signature phrase, highlighting the ongoing tension between the tag team partners. The friction between Waller and Theory continued to build throughout the broadcast.
Earlier in the show, Waller and Theory attacked Jey Uso in a coordinated assault that nearly went awry when they almost struck each other. This miscommunication added another chapter to their escalating dissension.
