Asuka has been absent from WWE programming since May 2024 due to a knee injury sustained in March of that year.

According to Fightful Select, WWE officials have initiated discussions regarding potential creative directions for her return to action.

The report reveals that WWE creative recently proposed a tag team match concept for Asuka’s comeback, though this particular idea did not move forward. Backstage personnel indicate that her status for the upcoming Royal Rumble 2025 remains uncertain.

According to the report, information about Asuka’s current training status at WWE’s Performance Center is not available.
