Carmella has officially departed WWE as her contract reached its conclusion. The former Women’s Tag Team Champion has not competed in a televised match since facing Bianca Belair on the March 6, 2023, episode of RAW.
According to reports from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select and Masked J of PWN, Carmella’s contract with WWE has expired, making her a free agent. The situation developed while Carmella continues to manage a drop foot condition that emerged following her pregnancy. She and her husband, WWE commentator Corey Graves, welcomed their son in November 2023.
This development comes amid changes for her family in WWE, as Graves was recently reassigned from the main roster to NXT. Following the move, Graves expressed his frustration on social media, claiming he was told he “wasn’t famous enough” to continue his main roster commentary position. He later deleted these posts.
During an appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Michael Cole addressed the situation and suggested that Graves’ comments represented his genuine feelings rather than a storyline element.
Carmella’s last in-ring appearance occurred over a year ago, with no official announcement from WWE regarding her contract status prior to these reports.
