The fallout from Wrestlepalooza has officially spilled onto social media. Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch is publicly disputing her loss from last night’s mixed tag team match, where she and Seth Rollins faced CM Punk and AJ Lee.
Lynch is now making the bizarre in-character claim that she never tapped out. Instead, she alleges an insect caused her submission to AJ Lee’s Black Widow finisher on September 20.
The Man posted a comically edited video as evidence, directly accusing WWE referee Jessika Carr of bias in a statement.
“I have recovered the unedited footage which clearly shows that I was attacked by a rogue bee at the end of the match. I have not tapped out in over 6 years and if it wasn’t for the blatant bias of that crooked referee who so obviously saw that I was being ambushed by the vicious winged insect predator, I would have been declared the winner.”
Carr quickly shut down the accusation. She quote-tweeted Lynch’s post with a blunt rebuttal, turning the champ’s own catchphrase against her.
“🙄 Becky, you tapped out. And it’s not just me saying it. 🤷🏼♀️”
The submission loss was a huge moment, capping off AJ Lee’s first match in nearly a decade. According to a Fightful Select report, Lee’s performance earned overwhelmingly positive reviews backstage, with talent noting she showed no signs of ring rust after her long absence. This victory, which followed her return on September 5, immediately positions Lee in the title picture.
All eyes will now be on WWE RAW tomorrow night to see how Lynch addresses her definitive defeat.
