The confrontation began inside the MassMutual Center with Rollins and Lynch, who immediately went after their opponents’ character. Rollins wasted no time, calling CM Punk “…the most selfish man I’ve met in my entire life.” He then turned to AJ Lee, warning her about Punk’s history. “…he has a nasty habit of leaving when things let him down,” Rollins said. “So, this Saturday, when my wife rips you to shreds, you better hope to God that he doesn’t leave you too.”
AJ Lee, making her entrance to a huge ovation and stepping back into the spotlight after a decade away from the ring, didn’t hold back. When Lynch, who had branded her a “liability,” referenced Lee’s book, Lee shot back with a sharp, “I did not read yours.”
The exchange boiled over when Lee slapped Rollins across the face, triggering a wild brawl.
