Wrestling analyst Sam Roberts has expressed doubt about Jade Cargill competing at WrestleMania 41, despite her recent return at WWE Elimination Chamber.
Cargill made a surprise appearance during the Women’s Elimination Chamber Match in Canada last weekend. She launched a targeted attack on Naomi inside the steel structure, seemingly revealing her former partner as the mystery attacker behind her absence.
The assault has sparked speculation about a potential WrestleMania match between the two former allies. However, Roberts believes their confrontation might happen elsewhere on WWE programming.
During an episode of his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts addressed the situation and questioned whether Cargill would secure a spot on the WrestleMania card.
I think we’re gonna get into Jade Cargill vs. Naomi as the big [match]. I don’t know if that’ll be a WrestleMania match. Maybe WrestleMania SmackDown, maybe Wrestlemania. I don’t know. There’s a limited space on the WrestleMania card, but who knows? I’m excited. I thought it was a great twist!
Roberts elaborated on his positive reaction to Cargill’s return and the storytelling involved in her absence from WWE television.
I feel like the Jade storyline was just long enough, not so long that you’re like, ‘Oh my god, I forgot that even happened,’ but long enough that you were like, ‘Yeah, we incredibly believe that she’s hurt.’ So I’m intrigued. I’m very, very intrigued.
The angle seemingly resolves the mystery surrounding Cargill’s backstage attack from last year, which had kept the former AEW star away from WWE competition.
Cargill’s dramatic return at Elimination Chamber marks her first appearance since the attack angle. The confrontation with Naomi establishes a clear direction for her character moving forward.
WWE has not officially announced any matches involving Cargill for WrestleMania 41, which takes place on April 19-20 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
