Bloodline member sincere about recent WWE change that "shocked" him
Former Intercontinental Champion highlights WWE’s evolving business strategy as the company prepares for its historic move to Netflix.
Sami Zayn has revealed his perspective on WWE’s evolving business model following the TKO merger, particularly noting the company’s increased focus on media content over live events. The former Intercontinental Champion, who joined WWE in 2013, shared these observations during his recent appearance on the Battleground podcast.
Zayn reflected on the significant changes within WWE’s operational structure, particularly as the company prepares for RAW’s transition to Netflix in January 2025. The veteran performer emphasized the substantial shift in WWE’s business priorities.
Speaking about the company’s evolving direction, Zayn shared his observations:
It is a particularly crazy time with us moving to Netflix and all these stuff and all these change in the landscape of even how we operate as a business, where it’s, like, more media focused than it is live event focused. That’s brand new; so there’s just so many changes going on. This three weeks in Europe on the Road to WrestleMania; this is all stuff that was unfathomable a few years ago. It’s crazy; it’s a crazy time!
Balancing family life during The Bloodline storyline
The discussion transitioned to Zayn’s experience during The Bloodline storyline, where he opened up about the challenges of maintaining work-life balance. As a father to Rami Sebei Jr., Zayn detailed the impact of WWE’s demanding schedule on his family life.
Reflecting on that period, Zayn explained:
The schedule at that time was really really demanding, and it was really a challenging time for me personally. Just because I had a child at home, and my wife was dealing with it all alone it. It was really tough.
