WWE announced John Cena’s retirement match will occur on December 13, 2025. The final contest will happen at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C.’s Capital One Arena. This event will stream exclusively on Peacock, part of a new agreement that makes Saturday Night’s Main Event a quarterly special for the platform.
The selection of Washington, D.C. shifts from earlier expectations. According to Jon Alba, officials in Boston were interested in hosting. However, negotiations stalled after WWE asked the city to cover new costs, and holiday scheduling presented challenges.
As part of his farewell tour, WWE also confirmed Cena’s last appearances for the Raw brand. He will be at Boston’s TD Garden on November 10. He then makes his final New York City appearance at Madison Square Garden on November 17.
In an official statement, the company framed these dates as key stops on his final run.
“John Cena to make his final appearances in Boston on Nov. 10 and New York City on Nov. 17,” the statement read. “WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings, today announced that 17-time World Champion John Cena will make his final appearances in Boston and New York City when Monday Night Raw heads to TD Garden on Monday, Nov. 10, and Madison Square Garden on Monday, Nov. 17, as part of his farewell tour which comes to an end this December.”
Tickets for these events go on sale September 10. A presale begins on September 9. WWE is also selling Raw Priority Pass packages through its partner, On Location.
While WWE has not named an opponent, speculation points to Brock Lesnar. Lesnar attacked Cena at SummerSlam on August 3. The two are also expected to face each other at Wrestlepalooza on September 20.
Cena’s remaining schedule includes an appearance at Survivor Series in San Diego on November 29. His final SmackDown appearance is expected tonight, September 5, in Chicago.
