Former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker has intensified speculation regarding her standing with the company, sharing a cryptic social media post that many interpret as a commentary on her perceived value. Baker has not appeared on AEW programming since November 2024.
On her Instagram account, Baker posted a message about self-worth, highlighting a specific portion for emphasis. The post compared the value of a bottle of water being different depending on the location where it is sold.
“A bottle of water can be $1 at a supermarket, $3 at the gym, $5 at the movies, $6 on a plane…”
Baker specifically highlighted the next line:
“Same water. The only thing that changed its value was the place.”
The message concluded with a line that has captured the attention of the wrestling community, given her prolonged absence:
“So next time you feel your worth is nothing, maybe you’re at the wrong place.”
While Baker did not mention AEW directly, the post arrives amid her continued hiatus from television, which now spans over seven months. Reports from June indicated that creative plans for her were dropped following an alleged backstage altercation in August 2024, which reportedly led to a suspension.
This public message comes shortly after Baker appeared in a vlog by Sammy Guevara, where the two joked about her lengthy time away from the company. When Guevara said he would hopefully see her soon, he added, “Yeah, maybe in six years.”
Despite widespread rumors of a potential move to WWE, multiple outlets have confirmed that Baker remains under contract with AEW. She signed a five-year agreement in late 2021, binding her to the company until at least late 2026 unless an early release is granted. Sources indicate there have been no recent contract discussions between Baker and WWE.
