Brock Lesnar made a thunderous statement to kick off WWE’s WrestlePalooza premium live event on Saturday night, demolishing John Cena in a brutal, decisive contest. The match, a marquee attraction of Cena’s retirement tour, saw Lesnar dominate the 17-time champion inside the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Adding to the big fight atmosphere, Paul Heyman interrupted the standard ring introductions, delivering one of his signature grandiloquent speeches to herald the arrival of The Beast Incarnate.
Once the bell rang, Lesnar immediately overpowered Cena, pummeling him around the ring and hitting a powerful German suplex that sent Cena scrambling to the outside to regroup.
Cena eventually mounted a spirited comeback, dropping Lesnar with a sequence of shoulder tackles before delivering three consecutive Attitude Adjustments. The flurry, however, only resulted in a two-count that left the Indianapolis crowd in disbelief. On commentary, Michael Cole reminded viewers that Cena’s Attitude Adjustment was originally named the “FU” as a direct shot at Lesnar’s F5.
Enraged by the near fall, Lesnar responded not with a quick victory but with methodical destruction. After countering a Five Knuckle Shuffle attempt, he unleashed a terrifying torrent of F5s. Lesnar hit two in a row, paused to scream at a downed Cena to get back to his feet, then delivered a third, fourth, fifth, and sixth—smiling as he prolonged the assault before finally covering Cena for the pinfall.
As if the message wasn’t clear enough, Lesnar hoisted Cena up for one final F5 after the match before making his exit, leaving the audience to process the utter destruction they had just witnessed.
MESSAGE. SENT.
