Brock Lesnar Gains Unexpected Ally at WWE Wrestlepalooza

After a tense backstage encounter on SmackDown, Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar shared the stage once again at WWE's Wrestlepalooza premium live event.

Paul Heyman made a surprise appearance at WWE WrestlePalooza tonight, officially reuniting with his former client Brock Lesnar by introducing him for his marquee match against John Cena.

Walking to the ring to a massive ovation, Heyman took the microphone and delivered a classic, fiery introduction for The Beast.

“Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman. Introducing the 17-seeing, GOAT-slaying, Cena-conquering, former NCAA, UFC, WWE, undisputed heavyweight champion of the world — the last real a—kicker, Brock Lesnar.”

With his advocate in his corner for the first time since before his 2020 alliance with Roman Reigns, Lesnar proceeded to dismantle Cena. The bout was a dominant performance reminiscent of their infamous SummerSlam 2014 encounter and marked Lesnar’s first victory in a WWE ring in nearly two years.

Lesnar wasn’t finished after the bell, delivering another F5 to a defeated Cena before laying out the referee for good measure.

The reunion raises immediate questions about Heyman’s current allegiances, as he presently manages the heel faction known as The Vision. That group, which features World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed, stood alongside Heyman during the initial confrontation that set up tonight’s events.

On last night’s episode of SmackDown, Lesnar ran into The Vision backstage after laying out commentator Corey Graves with two F5s. With Breakker and Reed looking on, Lesnar simply told his former advocate, “We should talk,” leaving the wrestling world to speculate for the next 24 hours.

Lesnar himself only returned to WWE programming last month at SummerSlam, marking his first appearance since his name was mentioned in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE.
