A photo circulating on social media suggesting Brock Lesnar is in Paris for today’s Clash in Paris is not legitimate. The image, which shows Lesnar posing with a fan, was actually taken yesterday in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.
The false photo fueled speculation that Lesnar would make a surprise appearance at the premium live event. However, reports from the last 24 hours confirmed he was in Canada attending one of his son’s hockey games. The background of the widely shared image further debunked the claim, as it features the logo of Boston Pizza, a restaurant chain without locations in France.
Despite his absence tonight, Lesnar’s return to WWE programming is imminent. He is scheduled to appear on the September 12 episode of SmackDown to begin the build for a match against John Cena at WrestlePalooza on September 20.
The feud was reignited earlier this month when Lesnar made a surprise return at SummerSlam to attack Cena with an F5. Their upcoming match is being promoted as the final chapter in their rivalry and is reportedly a bout Cena specifically requested as part of his retirement tour.
Meanwhile, John Cena is scheduled to face Logan Paul in a co-main event match at Clash in Paris later today. Speculation about a Lesnar appearance was partly driven by a tease on the August 22 episode of SmackDown, where General Manager Nick Aldis mentioned he had just spoken with Lesnar before being cut off.
