Carmella has publicly addressed her WWE departure for the first time since her contract expired earlier this month, ending her 12-year tenure with the company. The former Women’s Champion shared a brief video message on Instagram acknowledging the situation and thanking fans for their support.
In her social media post, Carmella expressed gratitude toward fans who reached out following the news of her departure. Despite battling illness for over a week, she took time to acknowledge the messages she’s received regarding her WWE career.
Hi guys. I am aware I’ve been MIA for the last week. If you can’t tell I’m so sick. I’ve been sick for over a week now. There’s also obviously been a lot happening. Some news broke last week and I just wanted to let you know that I’ve seen all of your texts and tweets and messages and DMs and like oh my god, you guys are just the best. I’m so grateful for you and everything that you’ve been saying about Carmella and my career and I’m so blessed. So thank you. I know there’s a lot of questions and uncertainty around everything. I will be going on a podcast later this week, answering some of those questions and telling my side because I have a lot to say about the situation. So yes, stay tuned, I’ll give you the details later when I can and I can’t wait to fill you guys in.
Carmella acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding her situation and revealed plans to share more details about her departure on a podcast later this week. She mentioned having “a lot to say about the situation” and promised to tell her side of the story.
Reports of Carmella’s WWE contract expiration surfaced last week, with the company subsequently moving her to the alumni section of their official website. The wrestler herself confirmed the separation by updating her names across various social media platforms.
The former champion has been absent from WWE television since March 2023 when she took maternity leave. After giving birth to her son in November 2023, health complications from childbirth prevented her return to the ring.
With her WWE chapter now closed, fans await Carmella’s forthcoming podcast appearance where she plans to provide more insight into her departure and possibly discuss her future plans in the wrestling industry.
