Charlotte Flair Responds to Theories About Her Major Opportunities in WWE

Charlotte Flair has broken her silence on the persistent fan theories regarding her prominent position in WWE, using a recent podcast appearance to sarcastically confront the narratives that have followed her career. Speaking on the Six Feet Under podcast, Flair mocked the perception that she controls her own creative direction.

“My heart is black, I don’t have one. I’m a bully. [laughs] I ruin everything. I control my storylines, bookings and title wins. It’s true, it’s in my contract. I need to win that title!”

She pointed out the absurdity of such beliefs, highlighting the issue of audiences feeling entitled to create negative opinions about successful individuals. Flair emphasized that her focus is on navigating the negativity without giving it power.

“People think that for real and the fact that we’re even talking about it, that’s the issue — that these opinions aren’t real but because people have been successful, everyone thinks they can have an opinion. It’s just learning to navigate and overcome it and not even give it any power.”

The sentiment follows a particularly challenging period for Flair, who admitted a promo from Tiffany Stratton for their WrestleMania 41 match “rocked” her emotionally. During the build-up, Stratton referenced Flair’s real-life divorces, blurring the lines between her on-screen character and her private life. In a personal essay, Flair later opened up about her vulnerabilities, writing about losing at “just about everything there is to lose at” to show the person behind the persona.

Flair’s recent journey has been marked by professional and personal hurdles. She returned to action at the 2025 Royal Rumble, winning the match for a second time after being sidelined since December 2023 with a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus.

Despite the loss to Stratton at WrestleMania 41, Flair is already positioned for another championship opportunity. She will team with Alexa Bliss at WWE Evolution 2 on July 13, where they will challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in a Fatal 4-Way match against champions Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez, The Kabuki Warriors, and Sol Ruca & Zaria.
