Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes faced a surprise attack from Solo Sikoa following the February 28 SmackDown broadcast, continuing their rivalry ahead of Elimination Chamber.

Cody Rhodes Attacked by Bloodline Member After SmackDown Goes Off Air

Solo Sikoa ambushed Cody Rhodes during a post-show segment after SmackDown went off the air on February 28 at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. The attack came immediately after Rhodes addressed the live crowd following The Rock’s on-screen gift presentation.

The televised portion of SmackDown concluded with The Rock delivering a custom American Nightmare-branded truck to Rhodes, accompanied by a video message that referenced Cody’s late father, Dusty Rhodes. Once the broadcast ended, Rhodes took a microphone to speak directly to the Toronto audience.

Fan-captured footage shows Sikoa interrupting Rhodes’ address with a blindside attack. While Sikoa initially gained the advantage, the momentum shifted when he attempted to retrieve a chair from ringside. Rhodes recovered, countered the assault, and delivered his Cross Rhodes finishing move to stand tall heading into tonight’s Elimination Chamber event.

This confrontation marks Sikoa’s second attack on Rhodes in recent weeks, following a similar ambush during the February 7 episode of SmackDown. The two competitors have maintained an intense rivalry throughout much of 2024, including their Undisputed WWE Championship main event match at last year’s SummerSlam.

The ongoing hostility between Rhodes and Sikoa adds another layer to the current storyline involving The Rock, as speculation builds regarding whether Rhodes will “sell his soul” to The Final Boss at tonight’s Elimination Chamber premium live event.
