Seth Rollins interrupted the segment, questioning Rhodes about his thought process. Rollins cautioned the champion not to disregard the sacrifices made during their collaboration at WrestleMania 40 against Roman Reigns.
Rhodes acknowledged Rollins’ support, referring to him as “his Shield” during last year’s WrestleMania event. The American Nightmare then requested Rollins not rush to judgment regarding his upcoming decision.
This exchange follows The Rock’s return on SmackDown last Friday where he confronted Rhodes with an unusual proposition. The Final Boss stated he wanted Rhodes’ “soul” rather than his championship title, leaving viewers uncertain about his intentions.
Rhodes must respond to The Rock’s offer at the upcoming Elimination Chamber premium live event. The winner of the Men’s Elimination Chamber match will challenge Rhodes for his championship at WrestleMania 41.
The champion’s championship defense plans were already developing before The Rock’s return, with CM Punk and John Cena considered leading contenders to emerge victorious from the chamber match.
