Cody Rhodes’ Next Challenger Teased After WWE Wrestlepalooza

The action didn’t stop after the main event of WWE Wrestlepalooza, as a massive champion vs. champion match was teased when World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins confronted Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on the event’s official post-show.

During the broadcast, which aired on ESPN Unlimited and WWE’s social media channels, Rhodes was on the panel discussing his future after defeating Drew McIntyre. After declaring himself the only person in WWE qualified to be the company’s quarterback, he was cut off by the entrance music of Seth Rollins.

Rollins walked out and stood face-to-face with Rhodes. Without a word spoken, Rollins raised his World Heavyweight Championship, prompting Rhodes to hoist his own Undisputed WWE Title in response.

The tense staredown concluded the segment, immediately fueling speculation that WWE is setting the stage for a blockbuster encounter at the upcoming Crown Jewel premium live event in Australia.

However, Rollins’ challenge may not be the only direction for the champion. The post-show press conference also floated the idea of a potential rematch between Rhodes and Drew McIntyre, with events like Saturday Night’s Main Event or Survivor Series mentioned as possible venues.

With Rollins making a clear, non-verbal statement and a McIntyre rematch still on the table, Cody Rhodes’s next official challenger remains unconfirmed. The path forward is expected to become clearer on the upcoming episodes of WWE Raw and SmackDown.

Update:

Michael Cole later provided an official update, announcing that the championship clashes will indeed take place at Crown Jewel in Australia next month. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, after their tense confrontation, are now confirmed to face each other at WWE Crown Jewel with the Crown Jewel Championship on the line.
