John Cena commenced his retirement tour at the 2025 Royal Rumble in Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium, entering at number 23 and lasting 30 minutes before Jey Uso eliminated him to win the match. On the same night, Cody Rhodes retained his Championship against Kevin Owens in a ladder match.
One thing that’s been on my mind I think, when he announced he was retiring, is a lot of guys jumped to the line of, ‘I want to wrestle John.’ A lot of guys jumped to the ‘I want to do something with John.’ Of course I’m probably the one who didn’t hold his hand up, and that’s simply because John is everything to me.
Cody Rhodes Possibly Injured After Major Royal Rumble Match
Sources indicate the Championship picture remains uncertain following Rhodes sustaining multiple injuries during his ladder match victory. WWE reporter Jackie Redmond provided details about Rhodes’ condition.

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes is dealing with multiple injuries. I can’t confirm the intensity or severity of the injuries, but what I can tell you is that they are bad enough that he will not be addressing the media in tonight’s press conference. In fact, his in-ring status may be up in the air as well. What I can confirm for you Tess, Cody Rhodes will still attend Friday Night SmackDown this week in Memphis. But considering this is WrestleMania season, this will be devastating news if Cody is unable to compete for any amount of time.
Despite these injuries, Rhodes plans to appear at SmackDown in Memphis this week, though his competitive status during WrestleMania season remains uncertain.

Goldberg Shares Regret Over Being Overprotective of His Character
Bill Goldberg amassed an undefeated streak of 173-0 during his run in WCW. One of his matches during this period took place at Halloween Havoc 1998 against Diamond Dallas Page.
Bill Goldberg amassed an undefeated streak of 173-0 during his run in WCW. One of his matches during this period took place at Halloween Havoc 1998 against Diamond Dallas Page.
During an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Goldberg recalled Page’s detailed match preparation approach.
Dallas came to me with 14 pages of a match and I think he wanted me to spear him seven times. Prior to that, I only speared anybody one time. Sting, being Sting, said, ‘You know what Bill, I think that was one of the best matches and best decisions of your life.’
Goldberg reflected on his past character decisions.

You can look at it myopically or you can look at it in its totality. Business-wise, I should have made more of those decisions. I shouldn’t have been so protective of my character. A lot of people say, ‘You’re a mark for yourself,’ right? I was a mark for myself because nobody else had my back. Nobody. I came in as a professional football player and I tried to take dudes jobs that have been in the sport and business since childhood because that’s the only thing they ever wanted to do, and it meant so much to them. I took that for granted a little bit. I always came in it with a different mentality. At the end of the day, if I didn’t have that different mentality, I wouldn’t have been what I was, and what I was, was something different. I think I was fairly successful at it. I still haven’t seen people do some of the stuff I was able to do.
Goldberg’s retirement match is scheduled for 2025.
Jey Uso wrestled Austin Theory in a brief match on Monday Night RAW. The contest ended when Uso connected with a “crossbody”, followed by a dive over the top rope onto A-Town Down Under.
Uso shared a photo on his Instagram story showing fans reacting positively to his presence in the ring. He captioned the image with one word: “COLD.”

WWE has scheduled Uso and a mystery partner to face A-Town Down Under in tag team action next week on Raw.
Gunther previously promised “weeks of hell” for Uso after his World Heavyweight Championship challenge at WrestleMania 41. The Ring General has since attempted to target Uso during recent Raw broadcasts.
Randy Orton Teased as Possible Member of New WWE Stable
During his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash proposes Randy Orton as an alternative third member to The Rock and John Cena’s alliance instead of Travis Scott.
John Cena turned heel at Elimination Chamber 2025, aligning with The Rock and attacking WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes. The moment marked Cena’s first villainous turn in his 20-year WWE career.
Travis Scott’s involvement in the segment drew criticism from fans, particularly after reports emerged about Rhodes sustaining an injury during the interaction.
Kevin Nash addressed the alliance formation during his Kliq This podcast, suggesting a different name for the group’s third member.

Have Randy Orton join Cena and Rock… I don’t think Travis Scott is the right guy to be out there as the third. You would have to have somebody come back, like if you could get [Steve] Austin or Undertaker if they had a year left in them, then you could get that. You know what I mean? Then it’s a different era. It’s none of the new guys. But we’ve all timed out. I think Randy looks amazing right now.
Orton will likely challenge Cena during his retirement tour, which concludes in December.
