Dominik Mysterio Breaks Silence After Winning AAA Mega Championship at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide

The themes of legacy and respect have defined Dominik Mysterio’s career, often in defiance of his father’s shadow. Now, the WWE Intercontinental Champion has claimed a new throne, capturing a historic title and immediately using it to both honor a different legend and disrespect his own bloodline.

Last night in the main event of the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide show in Las Vegas, “Dirty Dom” defeated El Hijo Del Vikingo to become the new AAA Mega Champion. The victory makes the 28-year-old a double champion, adding one of Lucha Libre’s most significant titles to his collection.

The win, which ended Vikingo’s 105-day reign, was anything but clean. The 18-minute bout descended into chaos, with interference from El Grande Americano pulling the referee from the ring at a critical moment. The brawl also saw Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh clashing with Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee at ringside, giving Dominik the opening to hit a Frog Splash for the win.

Following the match, Rey Mysterio entered the ring and, keeping his word, reluctantly fastened the AAA Mega Championship around his son’s waist. The moment of respect was short-lived, as Dominik immediately ordered his father out of the ring with a dismissive gesture.

Dominik later took to Twitter to mark his new status, first posting an edited photo of himself with both titles alongside Eddie Guerrero, captioning it: “PAPI would have been Proud. King of the Luchadores. 👑”

He followed up with a photo of the tense in-ring moment with his father, adding the message: “You Don’t Get Respect You Earn It. King of the Luchadores. 👑”
