Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio has made it clear he wants a spot on the upcoming Survivor Series card. The event holds special significance for Mysterio, as it will take place in his hometown of San Diego on November 29 at Petco Park.
“Man. I’m just excited to be home in San Diego,” Mysterio stated during an appearance on the Rap On Wrestling podcast. “It’s the first show ever at Petco Park that WWE is coming to… it’s just special, man, and I hope I get to be a part of that card at Survivor Series.” He also reminisced about growing up going to Padres games and watching his father wrestle in the city.
Before Mysterio can focus on the November event, however, he faces an immediate challenge. A title defense against AJ Styles is officially scheduled for the September 1 episode of RAW.
The pursuit from Styles has been relentless. WWE commentary during the August 25 Raw highlighted that while “Dirty Dom” outsmarted “The Phenomenal One” at SummerSlam, Styles remains determined to capture the Intercontinental Championship.
The broadcast also noted that this pressure, combined with potential cracks forming within The Judgment Day, could complicate Mysterio’s title reign.
