Drew McIntyre has publicly addressed the recent WWE departure of Karrion Kross and Scarlett. In an interview with Adam’s Apple, McIntyre expressed his confidence in the pair’s abilities to find success outside of the company.

“Kross, yeah, I mean I know Kross well. He is very talented, so is Scarlett,” McIntyre stated. “No matter what they do, they are going to land on their feet. I don’t have to give them advice. They know exactly what they are doing.”

McIntyre’s comments come after Kross and Scarlett’s WWE contracts officially expired on August 10, 2025, a move that has since been confirmed as a legitimate departure and not a storyline. The couple was subsequently moved to the alumni section of WWE’s website.

The exit followed contentious contract negotiations. Speaking on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” Kross revealed that WWE presented a new offer just days before his contract was up, giving him only 24 hours to accept. When Kross requested to see the analytics and metrics used to determine the offer’s value, he said the company declined and rescinded the offer entirely. Kross noted he was open to further talks, but none occurred.

In a video he later released, Kross described the final discussion as not feeling like a “real conversation,” leaving him “profoundly disappointed” and “really f–king angry.” He also voiced frustration with WWE’s creative direction, stating he was told by people within the company to ignore the growing, organic chants he was receiving from the audience.

Putting an end to fan speculation that his departure might be a work, Kross—now performing as Killer Kross—made a surprise appearance at a Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) show on August 23, attacking Matt Cardona. In a backstage promo, he directly addressed the theories, stating, “It’s clearly not a f**king work.”

Looking ahead, Kross and Scarlett have begun accepting independent bookings. It has been announced that Kross will make his debut for the House of Glory (HOG) promotion on October 10. The duo is also scheduled for an appearance at The Big Event NY autograph convention on November 15.
