Ex-Intercontinental Champ Eyed for 2025 Hall of Fame Class

Could Ken Shamrock finally get his WWE Hall of Fame call? The wrestling world is buzzing with reports that it might happen soon.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE officials have recently discussed inducting Ken Shamrock into their 2025 Hall of Fame class.

No final decision has been made yet regarding Shamrock’s potential induction, leaving fans to speculate about his chances. Shamrock’s WWE run lasted from February 1997 to September 1999, where he made a significant impact in a relatively short time.

During his stint with the company, Shamrock captured the Intercontinental Championship once and held tag team gold, showcasing his versatility. The “World’s Most Dangerous Man” also claimed the 1998 King of the Ring tournament, cementing his legacy as a legitimate tough guy in the squared circle.

Beyond wrestling, Shamrock built his reputation in the octagon with UFC and Pride FC, bringing mainstream credibility to WWE during the Attitude Era.

UFC already recognized Shamrock’s contributions to mixed martial arts with a Hall of Fame induction back in 2003 as part of their inaugural class.

“While not yet announced, Ken Shamrock’s name has been bandied about as well,” wrote Meltzer in his report on upcoming Hall of Fame plans.

With Earthquake and Typhoon already set for the April 18 ceremony in Las Vegas, adding Shamrock would bring another layer of nostalgia for longtime fans.
