Female WWE star shares emotional encounter with The Rock and his influence on her career

Mia Yim recently opened up about a meaningful interaction with The Rock, discussing how the WWE icon influenced her journey into professional wrestling. The SmackDown competitor shared details of their encounter during an interview with The Wrestling Classic.

Yim, who established herself as a prominent figure in the women’s division throughout 2024, reflected on the opportunity to express her gratitude to The People’s Champion. Despite her recent setback at Saturday Night’s Main Event, she maintains her focus on championship aspirations for 2025.

During the interview, Yim described the emotional moment when she finally met her wrestling inspiration. She shared how The Rock demonstrated genuine interest in their conversation despite numerous demands for his attention:

Yes, when I could get through some. When I could get through the tears, I told him, ‘You changed my life. You’re the reason why I started watching wrestling in the first place,’ and he was so sweet. So many people wanted to pull him left or right; they were trying to pull him everywhere, but he took the time to actually listen to me and give me advice. People say do not meet your heroes, but everybody that I met that I always wanted to meet has always been super sweet and respectful. And it was just like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m a bigger fan now just meeting you.

Tribal Combat implications loom for Netflix debut

The upcoming Tribal Combat match between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa at RAW’s Netflix premiere on January 6 carries potential implications beyond the two competitors.

While the stipulation mandates a one-on-one encounter with both factions banned from ringside, speculation surrounds The Rock’s possible involvement.

The People’s Champion’s last WWE appearance occurred at Bad Blood in September, and his unresolved business with Cody Rhodes from April adds another layer to the situation. The recent alliance between Reigns and Rhodes could serve as a catalyst for The Rock’s return, particularly given his connection to the Samoan dynasty storyline.
