Three months after his release from WWE, former Universal Champion Braun Strowman is now officially a free agent. His 90-day non-compete clause, which followed his departure in May 2025, has expired, placing the 41-year-old star on the open market alongside other released talent like Dakota Kai and Shayna Baszler.
The company’s decision to not renew Strowman’s full-time contract was reportedly a business calculation based on his high salary and significant injury concerns. His medical history includes a partially paralyzed leg, multiple elbow surgeries, a metal plate in his neck, and a torn groin suffered in April 2025, factors that likely influenced WWE’s choice.
With his free agency beginning, several paths are possible for Strowman. While fans speculate about potential moves to promotions like AEW or TNA, sources indicate the door for a WWE return remains open, possibly on a part-time basis. Strowman himself has fueled talk of retirement with cryptic social media posts.
For now, he is focused on projects outside the ring. He is set to host a new USA Network series, “Everything on the Menu With Braun Strowman,” produced in partnership with WWE Studios and premiering this fall. This venture keeps him in the public eye while he considers his next move in the wrestling industry.
