Former WWE Champion Reportedly Nears Long Awaited Return

With production on two full seasons of the American Gladiators reboot now complete, The Miz is cleared for a return to WWE programming. According to a report from Bryan Alvarez, filming for the Amazon Prime series has officially wrapped, ending the superstar’s planned hiatus from the company.

His time away from the ring was marked by online speculation about his contract status, which The Miz personally and publicly addressed. Amidst rumors that he had unfollowed WWE, he firmly denied any change in his relationship with the company.

“WWE and I are in very good standings. Like, we just dropped Miz Golf, which is part of WWE’s YouTube,” he explained in a video message.

Before his temporary departure for the television project, his last on-screen appearance was a loss to Aleister Black during the May 2 episode of WWE SmackDown. The absence was woven into storylines, including a teased friction with his tag team partner, Carmelo Hayes.

The new edition of American Gladiators will feature a notable wrestling presence beyond its host, with Wardlow, Kamille, and Eric Bugenhagen also part of the cast. With his filming commitments fulfilled, The Miz’s next appearance in a WWE ring is now only a matter of time.
