Randy Orton has been absent from WWE programming since November 2024, when Kevin Owens sidelined him with a banned Piledriver on SmackDown. While Roman Reigns has already declared his entry into the Men’s Royal Rumble Match following his Ula Fala victory over Solo Sikoa in Tribal Combat, reports suggest different plans for Orton’s potential return.
According to SportsKeeda Wrestling’s Backstage Pass, Orton may appear at the Royal Rumble 2025, but not as a participant in the traditional elimination match. Sources indicate his involvement could center around the Ladder Match between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, connecting back to his injury storyline from November.
I don’t know if both, but I would certainly say with the way the injury angle went down, he [Orton] has to come back for Kevin Owens. He can’t just enter the ‘Rumble as a surprise and forget about everything. So I’d say if he’s in Indianapolis for the pay-per-view, likely look for him during that Ladder Match.
