Joe Hendry’s Championship Concert on the February 20th episode of TNA iMPACT! Live faced interruption when The Colons (Eddie Colón & Orlando Colón, formerly Primo & Epico in WWE) attempted to ambush the TNA World Champion.

As The Colons prepared to attack Hendry, Elijah (formerly known as Elias in WWE) made his TNA debut by coming to the champion’s rescue. Elijah arrived at the ring playing his guitar, establishing his musical character similar to his previous WWE persona.

Following the confrontation, Elijah joined Hendry in the ring for a musical performance. The segment concluded with TNA authority figure Santino Marella announcing that Hendry and Elijah would team up against The Colons later in the broadcast.

Before The Colons’ interruption, Hendry had referenced his elimination by Roman Reigns at the WWE Royal Rumble and also mentioned John Cena during his concert performance.

The surprise debut adds another former WWE talent to TNA’s roster, building on the company’s recent strategy of acquiring established names to strengthen their television product.

Grim Update on Hardy Boyz’s WWE Future Revealed

Matt Hardy reveals on his podcast that while The Hardy Boyz have completed their current NXT stint, they remain interested in pursuing the NXT Tag Team Championships.

Matt Hardy has confirmed that The Hardy Boyz have completed their current run in NXT but still have future plans with WWE. The statement came during an episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast.

Yes. I do think we would want to run it back. As of right now, our little run with NXT is wrapped,” Hardy said. “We do have some stuff on our schedule to do with WWE a little later on down the road. Nothing specifically with NXT yet, but…

When podcast host Jon Alba attempted to get more details about their WWE plans, Hardy kept the information vague.

Just stuff, I’m going to leave it at that right now. We have stuff lined up with WWE.

Hardy expressed interest in returning to NXT specifically to pursue the tag team championships. The titles remain an achievement missing from The Hardy Boyz’ extensive tag team resume.

But I would love to run it back, especially when we gave our initial thoughts following the match,” Hardy continued. “The first thing post-match is like, hey, these guys got a shot at the TNA Tag Team Titles and we were able to retain our titles, we prevailed. But does this now earn us a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships? Because that is a tag team title that The Hardys do not have on their resume, and The Hardys would like to have that on their resume. I think there’s maybe a selling point there, too.

The Hardy Boyz began their unexpected NXT tenure on February 25, with their most significant appearance coming on March 11 when they defeated Fraxiom in a non-title match.

Jeff Hardy praised the athleticism of Fraxiom team members Nathan Frazer and Axiom following their bout.

Their human hearts are more like rocket-boosters. That’s the fastest team I’ve ever been in the ring with.

WWE has not announced any future appearances for The Hardy Boyz in NXT or on other WWE programming.
