Uncertainty surrounds when Indianapolis and New Orleans will host their promised WrestleMania events, with new reports indicating the earliest possible date for either city has been pushed to 2028. Sources in both markets have expressed doubt and frustration over WWE’s scheduling clarity.
In Indianapolis, insiders tied to the city’s three-event agreement with WWE said they have “no clue” when their WrestleMania will take place, according to the Sports Illustrated. The deal, which also included a Royal Rumble and SummerSlam at Lucas Oil Stadium, delivered its first commitment when the venue hosted the 2025 Royal Rumble in February. Despite the lack of updates, the city’s relationship with WWE is reportedly still positive.
A source familiar with New Orleans’ arrangement voiced skepticism, stating they will “believe it when they see it.” The Caesars Superdome was originally set to host WrestleMania 42 before WWE moved the event elsewhere. As compensation, the city was awarded the 2026 Money in the Bank Premium Live Event and a future WrestleMania, though no timeline has been confirmed.
The scheduling complications are heightened by WWE’s already confirmed locations. WrestleMania 42 will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas next April, while Minneapolis is locked in for SummerSlam 2026. That means the earliest Indianapolis could host its contracted SummerSlam is 2027.
WWE also announced that WrestleMania 43 in 2027 will be staged in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event, part of the company’s deal with the General Entertainment Authority, will mark the first WrestleMania held outside North America. Reports suggest Saudi officials are seeking a “star-studded” spectacle, a move that could further shape WWE’s long-term scheduling priorities.
