Former world champion Bill Goldberg has begun an intensive training program in preparation for his wrestling farewell set to take place in WWE rings next year. Recent social media updates reveal his progress as he works toward this significant career milestone.
The Black Diamond Martial Arts Instagram account shared footage of Goldberg’s second training session, noting marked improvement from his initial workout. The post stated:
Day 2 done. Lots of improvements since day 1. Thanks to @relentless_badger_ufc for coming out to help and joining in on a few rounds. Training videos coming soon! Thanks @goldberg95 for trusting us with your comeback!
Goldberg’s preparation team includes UFC veteran Brendan O’Reilly, who holds a second-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His son, Gage Goldberg, has also joined the training camp to support his father’s final in-ring appearance.
While WWE has yet to announce a specific date for the retirement match, the company has confirmed it will take place in 2025. Reports indicate Paul Levesque personally reached out to Goldberg with the concept for this farewell bout.
Goldberg’s last WWE match occurred in February 2022 at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event, where he faced Roman Reigns. His most recent WWE appearance took place at Bad Blood in October 2024, featuring a verbal confrontation with Gunther in Atlanta, Georgia.
