The main event for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam is now official. On this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, CM Punk outlasted multiple competitors to win a grueling Gauntlet match, securing a title opportunity next month.
The reigning champion, Gunther, watched the entire main event unfold from a VIP suite inside the arena. Following Punk’s victory, The Ring General took to social media to send a direct message to his new challenger.
“Lets find out if he is the Best in the World,” he wrote on his Instagram story.
The championship confrontation between Gunther and CM Punk is scheduled to take place at SummerSlam in New Jersey, solidifying a major title bout for the event.
