World Heavyweight Champion Gunther sparked a potential rivalry with The Undertaker after publicly questioning his coaching abilities during a recent WWE production. The exchange occurred on the A&E program WWE LFG and quickly caught the attention of wrestling fans.
The confrontation took place when Gunther observed Olympic gold medalist Tyra Mae Steele, a member of The Undertaker’s team, failing to recognize her competitive instincts. Gunther directly addressed The Undertaker, stating:
You are the coach of her — you should have helped her to realize this.”
The comment visibly surprised The Undertaker, though he appeared to acknowledge Gunther had made a valid point.
Gunther later expanded on his critique during an appearance on the RAW Recap podcast with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant.
I have been teaching and training people in professional wrestling for over 10 years and know my experience in that and know what I look for in people. I think in that regard, I have more experience than Taker himself. I don’t think he has trained many people, and it was my job that day to point out things that I saw, and that’s what I did.
The situation has generated significant buzz given The Undertaker’s legendary status within WWE. Meanwhile, Gunther continues preparations for his upcoming WrestleMania 41 title defense against Jey Uso, with his confidence seemingly extending beyond in-ring competition to his authority on training and development.
The unexpected criticism has left fans speculating whether this could develop into a more direct confrontation between the current champion and the Hall of Famer in the future.
