WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett offered a candid assessment of Andrade’s recent departure from the company, pointing to a recurring pattern in the former champion’s career. Speaking on his My World podcast, Jarrett identified Andrade himself as the central factor in the difficulties that have followed him through stints in AAA, AEW, and two separate runs with WWE.
Jarrett acknowledged Andrade’s talent but didn’t hold back when addressing the circumstances of his release, which came after a reported wellness policy violation last weekend. “The guy has incredible athletic ability… he can work his a— off. He’s really, really good,” Jarrett said, before changing tone. “You glossed over and said not one, but three [wellness violations]… When you have what you just said, that history… we know there’s an issue with AAA, we know there’s an issue with WWE — not once, but twice. We know there were issues there. At some point… it starts with the man in the mirror.”
The Hall of Famer also addressed the seriousness of the situation, referencing reports that Andrade was escorted from a WWE venue last month. “When you’re escorted from a building, no bueno. That is not good,” Jarrett remarked. “I hate that for all parties involved.”
Andrade’s release followed his removal from a SmackDown taping in August, an incident that forced WWE to abandon creative plans for a tag team pairing with Rey Fenix. This latest violation marks Andrade’s second confirmed wellness policy infraction with the company, the first being a 30-day suspension in January 2020.
Even with his sharp criticism, Jarrett closed with a note of cautious optimism. “I hope he pulls the nose up,” he said. “He’s young enough, he’s got a boatload of potential… but his track record right now is not good.”
