The power dynamics within NXT’s women’s division have shifted, as Lainey Reid has been revealed as the masked figure who aided NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, cementing a new alliance for the Fatal Influence faction.
During a backstage segment, Reid confronted Jayne and Fallon Henley, confessing to be the assailant who attacked Jazmyn Nyx on the previous week’s episode of NXT. She then presented Jayne with the mask worn during the interference at the No Mercy event.
Reid stated her desire to do anything for Fatal Influence, adding that her actions involved “going against the doctor’s orders.”
This confession resolves the mystery from the NXT No Mercy premium live event on September 27, where a hooded figure interfered in the championship match. The interference occurred during Jayne’s title defense against Lola Vice, when the masked assailant, now known to be Reid, delivered a knee strike to the challenger at ringside.
The attack allowed Jayne to secure the victory and retain her championship. The angle at No Mercy also involved Fallon Henley, who was ejected from ringside earlier in the match after a failed attempt to interfere on Jayne’s behalf but later celebrated the win with the champion.
