A WWE creative team member has been identified as the architect behind a significant television segment involving Randy Orton’s push for inclusion at the upcoming premium live event in Las Vegas.
Colin Clark was the creative force responsible for SmackDown’s opening segment on April 11, according to a report from Fightful Select. The segment featured Orton addressing his absence from the WrestleMania 41 card during a confrontation that took place at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.
The segment began with Orton referencing his previous physical altercation with Nick Aldis before shifting focus to his WrestleMania status.
I don’t have a match at WrestleMania. And this one matters. This is number twenty. I respect you, Nicki… but if I don’t have a match by next week, I’m going to do something about it. You’re going to have to apologize to Mickie James for what I’m about to do.

The confrontation intensified when Solo Sikoa interrupted the exchange with direct words for Orton.
No one wants to hear you whine about not having a fight. You’re history.
What followed was a physical altercation where Orton found himself outnumbered against Sikoa and Tama Tonga until LA Knight arrived to even the odds. This interaction set up tag team action for later in the show while leaving the central question unanswered – who will face Orton at WrestleMania in Las Vegas.
The segment represents one of several storylines building toward WWE’s showcase event scheduled for next weekend at Allegiant Stadium.
