Is Triple H returning to face Kevin Owens at WWE Royal Rumble 2025? See what sources say
Triple H’s recent confrontation with Kevin Owens sparks return speculation, but medical condition continues to prevent in-ring competition.
Triple H’s confrontation with Kevin Owens at Saturday Night’s Main Event will not lead to an in-ring return due to ongoing health concerns, according to multiple sources. The altercation occurred after Owens injured Cody Rhodes with a package piledriver following their match.
Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Dr. Chris Featherstone addressed the speculation: “I was informed that Triple H’s physical involvement following Kevin Owens’s post-match attack on Cody Rhodes at #SNME is only to elevate Owens as a heel, and the Cody/Owens feud is slated to continue. A Triple H in-ring return is not in the plans at this time.”
Triple H’s retirement stems from a September 2021 cardiac arrest caused by a genetic heart issue that nearly led to heart failure. Emergency heart surgery and a diagnosis of viral pneumonia, which caused fluid accumulation around his heart and lungs, prompted medical advisors to recommend against future in-ring competition.
His final match took place on January 11, 2021, in an Unsanctioned Match against Randy Orton on RAW. The match ended inconclusively after interference from Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt. Triple H officially announced his retirement at WrestleMania 38 in 2022.
