On the eve of her WWE Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam, Jade Cargill is responding directly to the immense scrutiny that has accompanied her meteoric rise. During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, the Queen of the Ring winner addressed the constant criticism she faces from fans and analysts.
Cargill believes the high expectations and her rapid ascent have placed an unfair target on her back.
“I can care less what they think. I know who I am, I know what I’m capable of, and I think people rush things so quick,” Cargill said. “I think people put such a target on my back but regardless, I can go out there and deliver a great match but people are going to pinpoint something. They’re gonna find something something something because of who I am and how I’ve been delivered, how quick I grew up in this game, who I have supporting me, how I look, that I don’t need this career.”
Her comments come as she prepares to challenge Tiffany Stratton this Saturday, August 2, in what many observers see as a potential “coronation” for Cargill. Her dominant victory in the Queen of the Ring tournament and the significant creative investment from WWE have positioned her as the likely successor to the championship, amplifying the pressure surrounding her performance.
Despite the external noise, Cargill remains focused on her own definition of success and the opinions of those in her corner.
“But I can care less because they’re not the ones out there, they’re not the ones that have to deal with what I have to deal with every single day and what goes through my mind,” she stated. “I listen to the people that want to see me go out there and be my best, I listen to the people that want me to excel and that know I’m gonna be a household legend.”
