Jade Cargill has spoken out after suffering a legitimate injury on WWE SmackDown, sharing a graphic Instagram photo of a deep cut above her eyebrow. Alongside the image, she wrote: “Don’t question the love I have for this game.”
The incident happened on September 26 during the WWE Women’s Championship triple threat main event at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida.
The injury occurred in a ringside exchange with Nia Jax. Cargill attempted to lift Jax, but was countered and thrown onto the steel steps, which split her open. Medical staff rushed to treat her immediately. Despite the chaos, the contest continued, and Tiffany Stratton retained her championship by pinning Jax after hitting the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
Cargill’s wound sparked heavy backlash online. Many fans accused Nia Jax of unsafe work and called for her release. Critics argued that her conduct was intentional and consistent with a history of stiff performances inside the ring.
Reports suggested that the turmoil extended backstage. According to TC WrestleVotes, the legitimate nature of the injury forced producer Tyson Kidd to alter the planned finish in real time.
