Jelly Roll’s Match at WWE SummerSlam Will Not Be His Last

As music superstar Jelly Roll prepares for his in-ring debut, WWE is reportedly looking at his involvement as more than just a one-time celebrity appearance. A new report indicates the company has been so impressed with his dedication that there is significant hope for a relationship that extends well beyond SummerSlam.

According to the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio, officials are “extremely impressed” with Jelly Roll’s commitment and genuine desire to succeed in professional wrestling.

“WWE is hopeful this won’t be a one-off,” the report stated. “They see real potential in him and are impressed with how seriously he’s taking this.”

That positive impression is rooted in the work the musician has put in over the last several weeks. Jelly Roll has been training intensely at the WWE Performance Center, working under head coach Matt Bloom and receiving guidance from veterans like Kevin Owens, Jacob Fatu, The Undertaker, and Michelle McCool. His commitment is further underscored by a significant physical transformation, having lost over 100 pounds with the stated goal of being lighter for his debut match.

This dedication has been a welcome development for WWE, especially after plans for a similar celebrity crossover with rapper Travis Scott reportedly fell apart due to a perceived lack of commitment on Scott’s part. In contrast, Jelly Roll’s earnest approach is seen as a model for future collaborations.

His journey culminates at the two-night SummerSlam on August 2 and 3 at MetLife Stadium. In a high-profile tag team match, Jelly Roll will team with Randy Orton to take on Drew McIntyre and United States Champion Logan Paul, the result of a storyline built across episodes of SmackDown and Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Following the event, Jelly Roll has a national music tour scheduled from August 16 through mid-November, which will take him out of the ring for the rest of 2025. However, WWE is apparently willing to wait for his return.

“A WWE source noted they’re hopeful he returns in early 2026,” WrestleVotes added.
