Jey Uso Fires Back at Critics with Explosive Statement

Jey Uso has found himself in the spotlight heading into WrestleMania 41, though not necessarily for the reasons he’d hoped. The Royal Rumble winner has faced mounting criticism from fans who question whether he has the skills to be a world champion contender against Gunther.

Recent botched moves during WWE shows, including a poorly executed Spear and Tope that instantly became internet memes, haven’t helped his case. WWE even incorporated these mistakes into RAW’s storyline. Addressing the situation on RAW Recap Podcast, Jey didn’t shy away from the controversy.

When discussing how his Bloodline storyline shaped his current main event status, Jey was straightforward:

If you retell that entire Bloodline story from day one, you’d get lost like everyone else. They wanted Roman. They supported me a lot. There wasn’t any negative reaction at that time.

Jey emphasized how crucial that period was for his development:

That was my best work, for real. It gave me confidence to start my solo career. It gave me confidence with the microphone. It gave me confidence in front of cameras.

When questioned about internet criticism, Jey showed remarkable self-awareness:

I feel like I act as if everything is 10 out of 10 for me. Now they’ll criticize me because I’m in this position. ‘Oh, he can’t do this. He only has three moves.’ But realistically, if we want to be honest, there are many incredible wrestlers much better than me, but they aren’t at the top.

The wrestler explained his perspective on the difference between technical skills and main event positioning:

They have 20 moves and can do all that, but they aren’t in my position. Because up here the game is different, but you saw me learn. You saw my best work, my best art. The whole way. You still see that.
