During the February 3 episode of Raw, Jey Uso opened the show at Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse to celebrate his Royal Rumble victory. During an emotional address reflecting on his 15-year journey, GUNTHER interrupted to express his disinterest in defending his championship against Uso.
GUNTHER dismissed the possibility of facing Jey again, stating that victories over John Cena, CM Punk, or Roman Reigns would better serve his legacy. The Ring General warned that selecting him as an opponent would result in severe consequences.
Jey Uso responded by announcing his appearance on the February 7 edition of SmackDown to speak with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
The Royal Rumble winner concluded by vowing to capture championship gold at WrestleMania 41, regardless of his chosen opponent.
