Jey Uso secured the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble Match victory by eliminating John Cena. During an appearance on the DC Check-In podcast with Daniel Cormier, Jey shared details about when WWE informed him of the match outcome.
Entering at number 20, Jey eliminated three competitors during his 36-minute performance, including Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn, before his final confrontation with Cena.
I was humbled, man. I know as soon as they told me it was me. They told me like halfway during the day, Saturday. They were like, ‘Hey, we need the last four to come in here.’ I’m last four. I see who’s with me. I’m like, Yeah!’ They let me know, man, and then I automatically was like, ‘Man, I would show to my brothers.’ … I knew I liked it too because I knew not one person at the arena think it’s going to be me.
The victory established Jey as the fourth member of the Anoa’i family to capture a Royal Rumble match win, joining the ranks of Yokozuna, The Rock, and Roman Reigns.
