John Cena has drawn a clear line in the sand, declaring his profound preference for a WWE ring over a Hollywood movie set. The statement arrived during a recent appearance at Fan Expo Dallas, clarifying where his ultimate passion resides as he navigates what he has called his “final season” in professional wrestling.
Speaking directly to the audience during a Q&A session, Cena left no room for misinterpretation about his feelings.
“I love wrestling so much more. So much more. There’s no denying the magic in an arena for a live WWE broadcast,” Cena stated. “I love wrestling so much more and I’m fine saying that. If that knocks me out of the movie business, I’ll be accountable for saying that.”
This declaration carries significant weight, as Cena is currently in the midst of a farewell run with WWE. His recent on-screen work has been defined by a villainous turn, a character shift that has seen him involved in major storylines.
His commitment to this current WWE role has been on full display. During the June 20 episode of WWE SmackDown, Cena delivered a notable “pipecomb” promo, after putting CM Punk through a table.
Even with his declared love for the wrestling business, Cena’s acting career continues with major projects on the horizon. He is set to appear in the action-comedy film “Heads of State” alongside Idris Elba and Priyanka Chopra, and will also return for the second season of the television series “Peacemaker,” scheduled to premiere in August.
