John Cena Drops Cryptic Message Ahead of SmackDown
Following his heel turn at Elimination Chamber, John Cena posts an enigmatic Instagram image referencing Steve Austin while Austin confirms he hasn’t been contacted for WrestleMania 41.
The post shows an edited image with what appears to be a box superimposed on Austin’s body along with the text “Stone Cold Soul” written across the picture.
This social media activity comes shortly after Cena shocked fans at WWE Elimination Chamber by turning heel and aligning with The Rock to attack Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Given The Rock’s historic rivalry with Austin, some fans have speculated about a potential “Stone Cold” appearance at WrestleMania 41 that could counter the newly formed Cena-Rock alliance.
Austin addressed these rumors during a recent interview with The Schmo when asked about the possibility of appearing at WWE’s biggest event of the year.
Hey, I haven’t been in contact with anybody, so I guess anything could happen. But I’m here to run the Mint 400 and that’s what my sights are set on. I’m not looking to Mania. I’m looking to the Mint 400. I got a brand new left knee, trying here to – this is my first race back. So I’m gonna go out there and kick ass and see if I can do as well as I can.
Austin clarified that no one from WWE has reached out to him regarding a potential WrestleMania appearance, shifting focus instead to his participation in the Mint 400 off-road race.
The Texas Rattlesnake did not appear at WWE WrestleMania 40, leading fans to hope for his return at this year’s premium live event.
