John Cena Finally Explains Why He Allied with The Rock on WWE RAW in Brussels

John Cena made his first appearance since his heel turn at Elimination Chamber during the March 17 episode of Monday Night Raw in Brussels, Belgium. The 16-time world champion entered using his traditional entrance music but displayed a noticeably more stoic demeanor on his way to the ring.

Upon entering the ring, Cena received heavy boos from the crowd, followed by audible “John Cena sucks” chants sung to the tune of his entrance music. The audience later engaged in dueling “let’s go Cena/Cena sucks” chants that appeared to favor the negative reactions by approximately 60-40.

Cena initially created tension by dropping the microphone and teasing that he would leave the ring before deciding to pick it back up and address the crowd.

When someone is properly grounded in life, they shouldn’t have to look outside themselves for approval.

He proceeded to characterize his relationship with WWE fans as abusive, describing how they had treated him throughout his career.

I am not a babyface. I am not a heel. I’m a human being. And each and every one of you has been awful to me.

Regarding his farewell tour that had been announced for 2025, Cena expressed frustration with how it had developed.

I tried one last time to do something nice for you guys, and you ruined it.

Cena stated that fans were only concerned with what they could get from him rather than how he felt. He declared they would receive “nothing” because that’s what they had earned.

The former champion indicated he had no plans to adopt a new look or entrance music, explaining that the fans did not deserve those changes. He also directed criticism toward supporters who had chanted “let’s go Cena” over the years.

The let’s go Cena people are just as bad as the Cena sucks people because they have never actually done anything to support me except make me the butt of a stupid invisible joke for 15 years and it is not funny.

As Cena began to state he was “breaking up with everybody,” including his own fans, he was interrupted by WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, his opponent for WrestleMania 41.
