John Cena vs. The Rock Match at WrestleMania 41 Would Be Disappointing, Says Veteran

Jim Cornette shared his thoughts about a possible John Cena vs The Rock match during the Jim Cornette Experience podcast. The discussion follows Cena’s announced return at the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble.

It would probably be big as a draw, but it’s somewhat disappointing in the end because you’re comparing to something that happened 20 years ago [12 years ago]. Somebody has got to lose that one, and, unless Rock went full-fledged heel on that one again, it would be kind of a bummer if either guy lost.

John Cena and The Rock previously competed at WrestleMania in 2012 and 2013, with each wrestler securing one victory.

John Cena expressed interest in working with CM Punk in an acting project during an interview with Collider.

I think the viewing public probably would get a kick out of… Usually, in the action-comedy space, it’s kind of oil and water, or two comedy styles that combat each other, and I don’t want to say ‘combat,’ but I think people would dig me and CM Punk together.
