John Cena is scheduled to appear on the September 5th episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Chicago. He confirmed the appearance himself during the post-show for Clash in Paris. The announcement came shortly after his victory over Logan Paul at the premium live event earlier today.
Cena’s win against Paul in Paris was part of his ongoing retirement tour. The victory leaves him with eight dates remaining on his WWE calendar before his career concludes.
While his immediate next stop is Chicago, an unresolved issue from SummerSlam still looms over Cena. Brock Lesnar returned at that event to attack him. On a subsequent episode of SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis stated he had received a message from Lesnar intended for Cena. However, Logan Paul attacked Cena before Aldis could deliver it, which directly set up their match in Paris.
In addition to the upcoming SmackDown appearance, Cena is also booked for action at WWE’s Wrestlepalooza on September 20th.
