The segment began with Dominik Mysterio backstage with his stablemates, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. Mysterio thanked them for a “Get Well Soon” cake, but they informed him they were not the ones who sent it. Upon closer inspection, the cake was revealed to be a gift from AJ Styles.
Immediately after the discovery, Styles himself appeared from behind a curtain within the clubhouse. He made a pointed gesture toward the champion before quickly vanishing. A startled Mysterio was unable to retaliate, instead simply holding up his official medical papers to remind Styles that he could not be physically touched.
This confrontation is the latest development in a feud that has been simmering for weeks. Styles has been pursuing a match for the Intercontinental Championship, but their scheduled bout was previously canceled. Mysterio is currently out of action with a legitimate rib injury, though he is not expected to be sidelined for an extended period.
